Concept & Identity
I took various inspirations from other catalog projects from work I found on Behance and a few on Adobe Stock and started to brainstorm ideas. This brand was very feminine, conservative, and stylish and had many photos in fields or floral areas. I used their color palette which was mainly a
brown color and pink with some grays. Because this brand was tailored to women, I introduced shapes with curves or rounded elements and added blending effects so outdoor images would bleed through the shape blocks in back of the models. My overall theme for this brand was “Inspiring Authenticity” in which I made figures or images pop out to “stand out” and
be bold in a modest sense in comparison to many other clothing brands out there.

Cover Concepts

Cover

After the completion of the cover design, I applied the theme and stylistic choices I made here to the rest of the spread designs.
Grid Section Progress

For my catalog layout, I used a simple 3-column grid to arrange all of the content.
Grid Spread

The layout of this spread drastically changed from my initial start to completion. After rearranging some products and images, I much preferred this layout to the former. This spread design ended up developing into two separate spreads layouts.
The second variation is in my full catalog.

Lifestyle Section Development

During the development of this catalog project, I switched from vector graphics of flowers to hand-drawn illustrations for a more authentic and organic approach to "Inspiring Authenticity."

Additional Spread

From my preliminary sketches and design ideas, I changed the majority of the layouts
that I was originally intending to make. I came to these decisions because I realized that the functionality and cohesiveness of the sketches did not translate well when I started to add content.
